Coconut Cures - Continued

Continuing with our list of cures using coconut oil, coconut milk, coconut meat, and coconut water. All information provided here is from Dr Bruce Fife's book, "Coconut Cures".

Gum disease and Tooth Decay - For fresh breath, clean teeth, and healthy gums, brush teeth daily using a mixture of baking soda and coconut oil. Coconut oil kills germs that cause bad breath, tooth decay, and gum disease. You can rub an infected area with coconut oil too.

Hair Conditioner - Massage 1 -2 teaspoons of very warm coconut oil or coconut milk into the hair. If possible wrap the hair in a hot towel for about 30 minutes then shampoo hair. Coconut oil gives the hair body and luster and gets rid of dandruff.

Hemorrhoids - Massage coconut oil into affected area 4-6 times a day. Eat at least 3 1/2 tablespoons of oil and take 1000 mg of vitamin C a day.

High Blood Pressure - Eat lots of fresh fruits and vegetables daily. Avoid all processed cooking oils and use coconut oil instead. Take a daily maintenance dose of coconut (3 1/2 tablespoons daily). 1000 IU of Vitamin D which can come from sunshine.

Hypoglycemia - Many people report that after incorporating coconut oil into their diets, they no longer have sugar cravings or symptoms. Take a daily maintenance doze of coconut oil and snack on fresh coconut meat throughout the day.

Hypothyroidism - Coconut oil can be of great benefit for many hypothyroid individuals. Some benefit more than others because many factors affect thyroid health. Coconut oil stimulates energy and metabolism and with regular useit can stimulate metabolism enough in some people to permanently correct low thyroid function. Basically, consume the maintenance dose of coconut oil and avoid processed vegetable oils, raw cabbage family vegetables, and foods made from soybeans. For a more complete discussion see Dr Bruce Fife's book, "Eat Fat, Look Thin".

Indigestion - For acute cases of indigestion take 2 Tbsp of coconut oil. If needed take 1 Tbsp 6 hours late.

Insect Bites and Stings - Massage warm coconut oil over the affected area. Warm oil penetrates deeper and gets the quickest results. Relieves stinging, itching, and inflammation. Apply two or three times a day.

Kidney Disorders/Stones- Take a maintenance doze of coconut oil daily. Drink 16 ounces or more a day of coconut water. Consume at least 6 eight ounces of pure water and 1 tsp of sea salt daily. Salt can be added to food.

Lice - Massage a little coconut oil into the scalp and hair not so much it makes the hair oily. Comb through the hair with a fine-toothed comb at least twice. Shampoo the hair making sure to scrub behind the ears and at the back of the neck as this is where lice are most often found. Dry hair. Now apply a liberal amount of coconut oil or coconut milk and massage it deep into the scalp and hair and keep it on as long as possible, at least 12 hours. Apply more oil or milk to keep scalp moist and if at night wear a shower cap to bed. Comb through the hair again and remove any lice you find. Most should be dead or gone by now. Shampoo again. Repeat if needed.

Moles - Moles can be removed using nothing more than coconut oil. Apply a bandage soaked in coconut oil to the mole. The bandage should remain moist with coconut oil. When it starts to dry ou, add more oil Keep the mole inconstant contact with the bandage except to change it every day or so. Depending on the size of the mole, the process may take several weeks. If it takes longer than 6 days, remove the bandage one dayto give the skin a rest. Continue six days on one day off until the mole is gone.
