Comment from Andrea Q: She gives this link for more accuracy on the above info.

Istockanaylsis.com

Here is another link to consider: Snopes

I personally know that Linens and Thinks is closing in San Antonio, TX because of all their "Out of Business" signs in our local shopping strip.

Apparently some of these stores have closed earlier in the year and have plans for restructuring. For example Sharper Image is not closing all their stores and are keeping 94 open but have filed for bankruptcy so will be using the 94 open stores to help pay off their debts.

Please read Snopes because they explain in detail about each of the stores above. The info is not bogus but does have half truths. Most of these stores are closing or have closed some locations but most will continue to operate in some parts of the country and keep some of their stores open.

And there is a Securities and Exchange (not called Security Exchange) where quite a few of the above stores have filed Chapter 11 and are restructuring.

This bogus email is currently circulating...many of the claims are false or outdated.

It does make you weary about giving or recieving gift cards. The linens n' things around here (in NC) are going out of business too.

That is a lot of stores. Some of them, I think have already closed and are done liquidating, others are new to me. We lost the Movie Gallery in our town, linens and things, and KB toys has been talking about going out of business for years. It is sad, our economy is in such a state.
