Work With Your Hands

Ephesians 4:28  Let the thief steal no more, but rather let him be industrious, making an honest living with his own hands, so that he may be able to give to those in need.

I Thessalonians 4:9, 11-12 But concerning brotherly love (for all other Christians), you have no need to have anyone write you, for you yourselves have been taught by God to love one another.

To make it you ambition and definitely endeavor to live quietly and peacefully, to mind your own affairs, and to work with your hands, as we charged you,

So that you may bear yourselves becomingly and be correct and honorable and command the respect of the outside world, being dependent on nobody (self-supporting) and having need of nothing.

II Thessalonians 3:10-12  For while we were yet with you, we gave you this rule and charge:  If anyone will not work, neither let him eat.

Indeed, we hear that some among you are disorderly (that they are passing their lives in idleness, neglectful of duty), being busy with other people's affairs instead of their own and doing no work.

Now we charge and exhort such persons in the Lord Jesus Christ that they work in quietness and earn their own food and other necessities.

God never tells us to work hard all our life and then give to those who are not willing to work hard, nor does He say the government has the right to take what your hands have worked hard for and redistribute it.

God wants us to freely give.  Giving should be from the heart of each giver.  Remember, God looks on the heart!  I Samuel 16:7 ...For the Lord sees not as man sees; for man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart.

Work With Your Hands is a figure of speech. God honors all works and looks on the heart.
