Does anyone make their own flowers anymore? Read on and maybe you will!
I ran across a collection of the most interesting flower making and flower arrangement information I have ever seen! These books, pamphlets, brochures and sheets date from the 1940's through the 1970's.
The floral book above is titled "How To Make Flowers" and was published by Dennison Co who made and sold crepe paper for this craft. Copyright is 1948. The printed price on this book is .25 cents!
It is packed full of patterns and instructions on how make over 20 different flowers, foliage, vines, fern and sprays. Flowers from Apple Blossoms to Wisteria.
As you can see in the center fold photo the flowers are beautiful! They were all made from crepe paper and some wire!
Real crepe paper is reinforced with a sizing and creped, which is a crinkling method that makes the paper incredibly pliable yet sturdy enough to iron or sew. Do not mistake tissue paper for crepe paper, not the same thing at all.
Included with this collection is more then 80 pieces that covers floral design and arrangements for weddings, parties, suppers, meetings, on and on the list goes.
