CPSIA -- Why Penalize US Companies?

Please contact CPSA and ask for a copy of all US companies with recalls due to lead or phthalates and why are they penalizing US companies. This law should apply on to overseas manufacturers.

They want to regulate US companies but so far I have been unable to find even one US manufacturer of any items that contained lead or phthalates.

Here is the current 2009 list of recalls and the US companies mentioned here were distributors only. The items with lead or phthalates that were recalled were manufactured in China.

Please contact your representative, congressmen, and media to let them know that the recalls are not due to US manufacturers using lead or phthalates. Therefore CPSIA should not be inforced against US companies but against foreign manufacturers only.

We need to continue to be a voice and let our representatives and congressmen, who we voted into office and who works for us the people, know how we feel about this law that will be taken up again next year if not sooner.

I have a widget on the right bar, scroll down towards the bottom, where you can search for your representative, congressmen, and media to contact.

Pretty Things said...

I make kid's jewelry on occasion and they did NOT put a hold on that like they did with other things. Even if there's not a BIT of metal anywhere. But I noticed Walmart still has scads of the stuff. Gah!!
