Saturday in Central Texas

We had a norther come in last night with howling winds and the temperature dropped quite a lot.

The wind has whipped the tin roof loose on the chicken coop and it is flapping and clacking! Everything that wasn't tied down and put away is scattered all around the yard. The chickens are huddled under the low branched trees against the house.

The cat won't go out and the dog wants to stay out and run after the items blowing around.

The grandkids were up at 7 am and wants someone to go get doughnuts because as the 4 year old says "we haven't had doughnuts in too many days!"

So their Dad is off with the kids to get some doughnuts (he can't say no to the two cutiest little girls). So their Mom gets a few more minutes to snooze.

And I am off to Lowes to get the right kind of nails for repairing the chicken coop.

The sun is shining brightly and it is a beautiful day to be alive! May everyone have a wonderful weekend! Be sure to take time to be thankful and enjoy your family and life!

The worst storm I ever experience was in San Angelo, Texas, walking to class on the Air Force Base in heels and my blues, with sleet coming in with the wind sideways. It was about 3/4 of a mile to class, and by the time I got there, the sleet had put little cuts on my face. Lovely.

Sounds like quite a Saturday! I was a little concerned this morning when I woke up to giant snowflakes coming down but thankfully they have stopped!
