God and Common Sense

This post is in the context of what is happening today in our country. The corruption, dishonesty, lack of honor, lack of integrity, lack of respect for others, and lack of taking responsibility for one's own actions in our Capitol and across the country.

These are things I personally needed to remember and remind myself that God is my sufficiency not the world!

These verses are simply to encourage people to think logically instead of emotionally.

Samuel 1:16 Man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.

Where is your heart?

Exodus 20:16 You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

The media daily accuses people or groups of bad actions and conduct even before an investigation has been done or anyone has been arrested. They continually feed hate to the public to incite violence so they have something to report on.

Matthew 12:36 But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the of judgment.

Wow, everyone should really think about this one!

Matthew 26:11 For ye have the poor always with you; but me ye have not always.

In light of "redistributing the wealth" or "taking from one group of people to give to the poor". Jesus said the poor will always be with us. It doesn't matter how much the government gives to the poor there will always be poor people.

Luke 6:38 Give and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

This verse says for you to decide to give and you get the good results. It does not say that the government shall MAKE you give because if you are forced to give then it is not with a cheerful heart and you will receive NOTHING good in return!

2 Corinthians 9:7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

1 Corinthians 13:3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.

You give because you are a child of God and want to help people but don't think that your giving will solve all the poverty in this country or the world.

You can only know what is available by reading God's Word. If the word says it is not available then know that you can not make it available just because YOU want to.

The government can take everything we own and give it to whom they want but it will not solve any problems in this world.

Genesis 9:11 And I will establish my covenant with you; neither shall all flesh be cut off any more by the waters of a flood; neither shall there any more be a flood to destroy the earth.
Genesis 9:12 And God said, This is the token of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations:
Genesis 9:13 I do set my bow in the cloud, and it shall be for a token of a covenant between me and the earth.
Genesis 9:14 And it shall come to pass, when I bring a cloud over the earth, that the bow shall be seen in the cloud:
Genesis 9:16 And the bow shall be in the cloud; and I will look upon it, that I may remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is upon the earth.
Genesis 9:17 And God said unto Noah, This is the token of the covenant, which I have established between me and all flesh that is upon the earth.

Did you know that the rainbow is a symbol from God that He will not allow the earth to be physically destroyed? That should settle it for global warming!

Jeremiah 9:5 And they will deceive every one his neighbour, and will not speak the truth: they have taught their tongue to speak lies, and weary themselves to commit iniquity.

How much truth are you getting out of Washington? Do you believe they are speaking the truth and being honest with us?

Zechariah 8:16 These are the things that ye shall do; Speak ye every man the truth to his neighbour; execute the judgment of truth and peace in your gates:

If everyone would get back to reading the Word of God and applying his common sense principles then we could actually have a free republic and mostly live peaceably with all men.

Romans 12:18 If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.

Notice this verse says "if it be possible" because there will always be those who do wish to live peaceably.

Did you know that the New Testament was written for us to apply today in our lives. The Old Testament was written for our learning. We are no longer under the old law but have a new law, we are saved by grace.

Romans 6:14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

Romans 6:15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid

Read God's Word, use common sense and truly enjoy life and prosper abundantly.
